Hell week

So the past few weeks my life has been really hectic . It is crunch time of the year and the workload just piles up. This semester I am marking at least one section of 6 final exams...For those of you who fail to understand the sheer volume, this is about 1200 exam scripts. Yes, I know plenty of people who have never read a novels that long even when it is entertaining and thought provoking (Random note: I have not finished the Lord of the Rings Trilogy...The last umpteen chapters detailing the trip back to the Shire and all the details of the King bore me. The book finishes when the ring is destroyed. The rest is, in the words of Dan hundreds of pages of foliage), let alone pages of chicken scratch detailing the ways to hedge a company's foreign exchange risk. I guess it is payback from all the years when the professors couldn't read my hand writing...I think that they followed the same method I have had to use. Ummmm I cant read that...(flip to front cover to see how they did on other sections)....hmmmmm they haven't done that bad on the other questions so I guess a 7/10 is fair.....The good thing is that I am on the home stretch and only have about 200 more to mark. Hopefully I will be done tomorrow.

Next week I have my Masters thesis presentation. I finally have some decent results that look great but now I have to get them in an organized form that people can understand. Its going to be a fairly intense week to get it all sorted out. After that I set cruise control so that my baby is handed in by Christmas. It is going to be so sweet when I hand it in.

So for some weird news I read today:

  • Ali G is threatened court action by the government of Kazakhstan...Apparently they aren't a country of drunk farmers who punch cows for fun. The foreign minister has stated that "Borat" has impacted the tourism of their large mid Asian country.

  • On a more seriousnote the teenage couple suspected of murder have been apprehended. The low down looks like an argument ensued between the 18 year old boyfriend and his girlfriends father after he failed to bring home his 14 year old daughter the night before. Consequently, the boy shot the father and mother in the head and took off with his gf. They were apprehended 200 miles away in a high speed chase on the wrong side of the road. It is a miracle that no one was injured in the process. Both of the kids came from Christian families and both the kids were home schooled. I don't understand why parents would home school their children. It seems to breed individuals who can't interact with the general population.
  • Venezuela's President Hugo Chavex
  • is throwing his toys again. This time it is with Mexican President Vicente Fox. Apparently Mr. Fox didn't like being referred to as "the puppy of the US". Chavez really cracks me up. He is as close to a WWF (or WWE, what ever floats you boat) wrestler persona as it gets. Any time he is in the news (which seems to be on a daily basis) it is worth stopping what you are doing and having a read.

Ok here are the five words I probably say the most that really has to get cut back because it makes me look like a moron:

      1. Word
      2. Fuck
      3. Seriously
      4. Dude
      5. Ummmmm

Honorable mentions: Like, Eh?

Anyways back to the marking...Au revoir
