Weekend that Wasn't

So I finished last week on a high note. Work is going well. I thoroughly enjoy the projects we are involved in. Every day is a challenge that I am excited to attack. I would elaborate more but I can't due to the legal disclosure requirements of the position. Well, after Friday nights pleasant events I was looking forward with catching up with a few friends. Anyways, I met up with a couple of guys for some beers before I went into town. After too many drinks I went to town on another adventure. Well I really wasn't having any fun...I really think that the whole drinking scene has gotten old for me. I left early sick and spent much of yesterday laying and feeling sorry for myself. By the time I mustered the energy to get my car and ride my bike to get it, the afternoon was almost gone. So I trekked the 10 minutes of pure hell to get my car. Well after a half dozen wretches, a score of vulgar comments, and a fucking huge hill, my car was no where to be seen. Apparently the city of Auckland was sponsoring a bicycle race along that road, and parking was prohibited. Luckily, my friend's mother had spotted the tow truck and we were able to track the car down with not much effort. This experience has really embedded the fact that I really don't like drinking. Not the casual beer with friends or few while watching the game, but the binge drinking and going to clubs to impress people. Yah I'm over it...Fork in it...done. I guess I'm a grown up. I guess now I am going to change my behavior to match these comments but since I am not having fun and tired of the cost of the current lifestyle its time for a change.

However, I did see a cool highlight flick about how awesome Alexander Ovechkin is...even for those of you who aren't hockey players will like this.

I was also sent a clip of from a friend about an autistic kid who was the water boy of his local high school basketball team...well the short of it is he gets to suit up on the last game of the season and gets to play the last 5 minutes. Well the kid catches fire and scores 20 points in 3 minutes, including 6 consecutive 3's. While it is amazing, and heartwarming, the quotes from the kid will make you laugh...For the next week all your going to say is"I just caught fire, you know, I'm hot as a pistol".
