The Fit Factor

My training has gone to shit this week. Torrential rain has made my morning run almost non existent. I ran a 10k yesterday and I plan to go for a 2 hours session tomorrow. It hasn't been a total waste since I did have hokey practice on Tuesday and I have a game tonight. Not the same but surely not like sitting on the couch devouring bowls of icecream and snacks.

I am missing watching the playoffs, especially with the Oilers charging their way to the finals. Being up 3-0 (now 3-1) makes its pretty much a sure bet. The town is going crazy and enjoying their new found fame. As an 8 seed that just scrapped into the playoffs. If my Nucks didn't collapse in the last 10 games they wouldn't be in this position. First time that the team has been this deep in playoffs since Ranford was the tender, Messier was the man, and the Great One just got traded. It has been 13 years since a Canadian team has won the cup and this would be great. The Oilers were almost moved out of Edmonton in the old NHL and now they are sitting near the top. Similarly, so were Carolina and Buffalo who are in the semi's on the Eastern Conference finals. God Bless the new NHL.

It is also the rugby Super 14 final tonight. This is like the Stanley Cup of rugby for South Africa, NZ, and Australia. The game is at 7:30 tonight with the Cantabury Crusaders vs Wellington Hurricanes. The Crusaders have been the class of the competition the last 2 seasons. The have the world rugby player of the year, Dan Carter, and former and current All Blacks captains Ruben Thorne and Richie McCaw. The Hurrinanes are going to be the underdogs but ended up 3rd overall during the regular season and have retiring All Black captain Tana Umana. He is by far the scariest looking dude in pro rugby, if not pro sports. Living in Palmy for 3 years pretty much means that I have to chear for the Hurricanes but I do think the Crusaders will pull it off.

On a general note, isn't it great that girls flash their boobs when their team wins...
