The X Factor

Went out with the flatmates last night to watch the Super 14 final. The game was a total bust because the fog set in and you couldn't see anything. Definitely one of the worst TV sporting events of all time. All you could see was the camera moving back and forth over the thick fog. So so gay. The Crusaders won 19-12 and fully deserve the championship. After the game we decided to go and watch the new X-Men movie. Again, the critics have been cutting into it but I fully enjoyed it. Not going to go too much into details but it filled in a lot for me. I watched the cartoon but didn't read the comics so I really didn't understand the whole Jean Gray/The Phoenix thing. Also the special effects were pretty rad with the pinnacle being Magneto moving the golden gate bridge. Since it was filmed in Van I did see the apartment building I used to live in in UBC, which was pretty random. There was also a trailer for the new Superman...it looks ssssssssooooooooo good.

Today I went for a big run and it destroyed me. It as only 12 km but after hockey last night my legs were not wanting to move. I figured that I better go though since I ate a butt load of Indian food last night and was going to my bosses for bday dinner tonight. It was a struggle but ended up being alright.

Dinner tonight at the bosses was great. Their family has really taken me under their wing since moving up to Auckland. It was my bday on Thursday and Sarah's (their daughter) flatmates bday yesterday. It was a really nice roast chicken dinner with roast vegs. They had a fruit platter and I got to eat some fejioas and try paw paw. It was a great night and really appreciated what they have done for me. I did have a little talk with my boss about work and he went over a valuation that we did for a client. It looks like I may have fucked up by a million bucks. I am so mad at myself. Working with large sums of money commands a great attention to detail and small mistakes turn into million dollar mistakes, something that can't happen very often.

On a better note, Oilers in the final...oh ya!
