Nothing Exceeds like Excess

So I thought that I found the deal of the week yesterday. I was walking through this second hand book shop and found an original copy of Catch 22 for $4. I checked it over and it seemed great but a little too good to be true. So I gave away the 4 buck thinking that I had found the purchase of the year. Well I started reading it last night and the pages keep on falling out all over the place. It seems like as soon as I touch it "poof" 17 pages fall to the floor. The book isn't in perfect condition but if anyone knows of away to stop this or mend a 50 year old paperback book you should let me know.
