OK I feel like a fat mess. These last couple week I have been so inconsistent about going to the gym. I have all this pent up energy that needs releasing. After going about 4 times a week all year, cutting back to a couple half ass visits makes me fell so gross. Also, it doesn't help that I have grown my hair since March when I shaved it. A bunch of us decided that we would do it and then grow it out until Christmas...Well I was the only one who had the dedication and will power to make it. It has been trimmed to look respectable when I had a job interview a while back so it doesn't look too much like a mop. Yup I am looking forward to getting it short for the summer. Its just to hot with too much maintaining...I am pretty annoyed today at myself. I got a call today saying that I got an internship at this investment bank. It was a 3 month contract with the former managing director of Goldman Sachs. So pretty much it was perfect. However (this isn't a happy story) its starts Monday and my thesis won't be finished until the end of December (if I work full time on it till then writing). I informed them of this and they told me it was Monday or nothing. After speaking to some friends, family, and supervisors I had to turn it down. I have put a lot of work into my thesis and if I don't finish it because of this internship I will have wasted a whole year of my life and a whole lot of money. I guess, "it wasn't meant to be". Na...It is because I played too much golf early on. I am kicking myself in the ass now but I guess if someone wants to give me a job...Someone else will too (I hope!). The finance industry is all about getting a foot in the door and it is tough having to let an opportunity get away.
Today must be weird news day. There is some golden stuff out there at the moment:
1. A women in France has had the first face transplant. Weird...I guess she got mauled by a dog and is getting a person who is brain deads face. I can understand the ethical dilemma involved in that. But, like any other transplant, there is the chance that her body will reject it. Hmmm what do you do when your body doesn't like your face...Do they take if off and leave with ???. Do you get another dead person's face. I can understand why this one has been debated.
2. Similarly, in New Zealand another woman will be getting her sense of smell back. A few years ago she got a cold and it totally fucked up her sense of smell so now everything smell "gross". I have no idea how this can happen but, it is a condition that affects only 20 people worldwide. I guess you can fart around her all the time and it doesn't matter..."What's that smell?.....umm Apple Pie".
3. Our friend Dick Cheney may be indibted for war crimes. Mr. Cheney apparently ignored the decision made by our friend W on the treatment of prisoners of war on terror. This is an interesting attack made by Col Lawrence Wilkerson who was a former colleague in the senior reaches of the Bush team. On another not Colin Powell has turned is back on this administration as well. Wow....These boys are going downhill fast.
Oh ya...I have now entered the 21st century and gotten a digital camera. Let the games begin.
